Octavo (23 cm), pp. [22]. Yellow illustrated wraps. Color plates of L.A. Huffman photographs from glass negatives in the Coffrin collection depicting various Native Americans, Calamity Jane and western scenes including two-page spread of downtown Miles City in 1880. Rubbing and edge wear to wraps, else fine. Huffman worked as the post photographer at Fort Keogh, Montana Territory. In addition to his military photos, "Huffman often carried his camera on horseback to the scene of buffalo hunts and nearby cattle roundups. He photographed and preserved pictures of Indian life and photographed the battlefield on the Litttle Bighorn only three years after the battle" (Lamar.
