Photogravure frontispieces and several other plates with captioned tissue guards. Illustrations mostly by Arthur Twidle, with 3 by Sidney Paget, 2 by W.B. Wollen and 1 by B. West Clinedinst. Bookplate of Thomas Jefferson Murray on inside front boards. Fading to spine, wear to edges and general rubbing to boards. The unnumbered volumes are (in the order given by the online Arthur Conan Doyle Encyclopedia): "The White Company," "Micah Clarke," "The Refugees," "Rodney Stone," "Adventures of Sherlock Holmes," "The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes," "A Study in Scarlet/The Sign of Four," "The Great Shadow/Uncle Bernac," "A Duet, with an Occasional Chorus," "Tragedy of the Korosko/The Green Flag," "The Stark Munro Letters/Round the Red Lamp," "The Exploits of Brigidier Gerard" and "The Hound of the Baskervilles" (which was not included with the concurrent English edition).
