Undated (circa 1920). Underwood & Underwood photos published by the Keystone Company. Set of 30 stereoscopic silver gel photographs mounted on stiff 3-1/2" x 7" gray cards in black slipcase. Cards and photos in fine condition, slipcase very good with light wear. The photos take the viewer on a trip by rail and horse-drawn carriage through the park beginning at the north entrance in Gardiner, Montana. Each card has a short description on the verso, with more details on the recto, and captions translated into French, German, Spanish, Swedish and Cyrillic. Includes shots of the park's iconic wildlife (grizzly bear and bison) and places (Mammoth Terraces, Norris Geyser Basin, Old Faithful and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone). Highlights include photos of tourists enjoying the thermal features in a manner forbidden today, including one man with a small trout on the end of his line turning from Yellowstone Lake to a small geyser, where he apparently intends to cook the fish.
