Folio (31.5 cm), pp. [vi] vii-xii, 1-91, [5]. Full leather boards, brown faux leather slipcase with gilt titling. Signed by author on limitation page. Number 81 of 100 copies. Fully illustrated with black and white photographs of Scriver's bronze sculptures depicting rodeo scenes covering the era from Bill Linderman to Jim Shoulders. Additional photos of the artist at work; a full color portrait and brief bio of him; and black and white photos (with notes by Scriver), by the book's photographer (Asger Mikklesen), and Bill Cochran (credited with "consultation"). Slipcase in very good condition, with a small tear at top corner. Includes a laid-in copy of an eight-page, typewritten biographical chronology of Scriver with handwritten notations and additons that details Scriver's family life, education, military service, music and taxidermy careers, the Scriver Museum of Montana Wildlife, and a full year-by-year account of the creation of specific sculptures, exhibitions, memberships, commissions, awards, publications and meetings with other famous artists. Interesting highlights include directing the All-Indian band that performed for the crown prince and princess of Norway, the explanation for not producing any sculpture in 1970: "April 1, had a heartattach [sic] --no work" and "1972 Year of the big snow--the studio was completely covered, went out the door like an igloo." The entry for this book mentions that the 100 copies of the limited edition sold out before publication and that 3000 books in bound in blue denim were also produced. First Edition.
