Includes the following material laid in: receipt for the book, publisher's promotional material with Mr. Beagle's handwritten notations, and several pages of material with a note from the author describing them as "the promised preview of the forthcoming book." Jacket has light edge wear. This "semitechnical treatment of the wild sheep of the world" is the result of the author's lifelong study of wild sheep, and the first such volume by a zoologist since the landmark 1898 The Oxen, Sheep and Goats of All Lands by Richard Lydekker.
